Cleaning Supervisor and HandyPerson
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Cleaning Supervisor and HandyPerson to oversee the cleanliness and minor maintenance of 35 yoga studio locations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising cleaning staff, ensuring high cleanliness standards across all locations, performing minor repairs, and managing the care of yoga-related equipment and accessories, such as mats, blankets, bolsters, and covers. This role is essential in maintaining the company’s reputation for clean, serene, and functional spaces for wellness and relaxation.
The Cleaning Supervisor and HandyPerson will develop cleaning schedules, train cleaning teams, maintain stock of cleaning supplies, handle small maintenance issues, and manage the dry cleaning and upkeep of yoga equipment across the chain of studios. You will be the go-to person for any on-site cleaning and minor handy-person duties, ensuring that our studios are always ready for classes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning Operations and Supervision:
- Oversee the daily cleaning operations across 35 yoga studio locations to maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules for each location to ensure all areas, especially high-traffic zones (e.g., studios, changing rooms, restrooms), are regularly and thoroughly cleaned.
- Supervise and manage cleaning staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling shifts to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct regular inspections of the studios to ensure all cleaning tasks are being completed properly and on time.
- Address any cleaning-related issues, responding quickly to emergencies such as spills or equipment malfunctions that require immediate attention
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks across all yoga studios, such as fixing leaky faucets, replacing light bulbs, patching small holes in walls, or addressing plumbing or electrical issues.
- Conduct routine checks on studio equipment (e.g., heating and cooling systems, lighting) to ensure everything is functioning correctly and efficiently.
- Coordinate with external contractors when larger or specialized repairs are required, ensuring timely resolutions.
- Keep a log of repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring that all issues are documented and addressed in a timely manner.
Equipment and Yoga Accessories Maintenance:
- Regularly clean, disinfect, and maintain yoga mats to ensure they are hygienic and free from damage.
- Organize the regular dry cleaning of all yoga accessories (blankets, bolster covers, etc.) to maintain hygiene standards
- Ensure that yoga props such as blocks, straps, and other equipment are well-maintained, clean, and in good working condition.
- Replace or repair damaged or worn-out equipment as needed, ensuring that all yoga accessories are safe and usable.
- Establish a routine for checking and cleaning yoga equipment across all studio locations, ensuring consistency in quality and hygiene.
- Ensure that all locations are stocked with the necessary cleaning supplies and equipment, such as disinfectants, mops, brooms, and paper products.
- Track inventory levels and order supplies as needed, working within a set budget to optimize costs.
- Maintain and organize a central supply storage area for easy access and inventory management.
- Ensure that all cleaning activities comply with health and safety regulations and that the studios provide a safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.
- Implement and maintain strict cleanliness protocols, particularly in areas with high foot traffic or potential hygiene risks.
- Train cleaning staff on the safe use of cleaning products and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards at all times.
Team Supervision and Training:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the cleaning staff to ensure they understand their responsibilities and are working efficiently.
- Conduct regular training sessions for cleaning staff on proper cleaning methods, use of equipment, and safety procedures.
- Provide ongoing feedback and support to ensure staff are consistently meeting cleaning and hygiene standards.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 years of experience in cleaning supervision or a similar role, with a focus on managing multiple locations; some handyperson or maintenance experience is required.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of basic handyperson tasks such as plumbing, electrical, painting, and general maintenance.
- Leadership: Experience managing and supervising cleaning teams, with a strong ability to motivate and lead by example.
- Attention to Detail: Strong eye for cleanliness and detail, ensuring high standards are consistently maintained.Problem-Solving: Ability to assess and resolve minor repair issues quickly and efficiently.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple locations, cleaning schedules, and supply inventories.
- Physical Fitness: Must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, carrying equipment, and standing for extended periods.
- Communication: Good verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members, studio managers, and external contractors.
- Flexibility: Ability to handle varying schedules, including potential evening or weekend work.

License and Mobility:
- Driver’s License: Must have a valid license to drive a car to travel between studio locations.
- Willingness to Travel by Motorbike: Must be willing to travel efficiently between studio locations using a motorbike provided by the company.
